HWHP’s beginnings date back to 1976 when Don Trigg rebuilt a 60° Celsius water heat pump.
Today HWHP designs and manufactures “Performance Plus” brand Heat Pump products for domestic and international markets. Swimming Pool Heat Pumps comprise of more than 70% of our total productions.

Manufacturing facilities are run from a 13500 square foot factory in Henderson, Auckland.

We currently export to Chile, Australia, South Africa, United States of America, Singapore, Pacific Islands, and continue to expand our export territory.

HWHP has dedicated its life to advancing Heat Pump Technology and Applications since 1980 and the continued growth is indebted of participation and commitment of each and every employee at every step of production; from data collection, design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, delivery and after sale back up.
(a) Relevant Experience
Don Trigg, whom had been developing swimming pool heat pumps from 1980, established Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd in 1982. By 1986 Don was the only swimming pool heat pump manufacturer still operating in New Zealand.
Through the late eighties and early nineties, Don’s introduction of hi-tech corrosion resistant tubing within the heat exchanger has made swimming pool heat pumps a success in New Zealand. The standard grades of tubing used during the early eighties failed when proper pool balance was not maintained, causing considerable damage to the heat pumps refrigeration system.
In 1996 Don introduced the "Performance Plus"™ brand of swimming pool heat pumps to the New Zealand market, using titanium tubing within the heat exchanger. Titanium is one of two materials that have proven to be very resistance to corrosion due to pool water chemistry.
70% of our business is the design and manufacture of commercial and domestic swimming pool Heat Pumps.
Currently we have 20 staff operating in our 13500 square feet factory.
Hot Water Heat Pumps Ltd manufacture the largest range (currently 36 models) of swimming pool heat pumps available in New Zealand. We have 28 years of experience in design, manufacture and applying swimming pool heat pump technology developed by ourselves.
b) Track Record
We have manufactured in excess of 5000 “Performance Plus” heat pumps since 1996 and number beginning to exceed 600 heat pumps per year and growing.
